I must say that a swatch of fabric is just as tricky as a paint chip to imagine on a bigger scale. And boy did I goof up this one! It turned out to be completely different than I imagined, in a bad way.
I have tried to make it work in hopes that one day I would have it reupholstered to my liking. But a couple of weeks ago I happened to come across this tutorial with lots of amazing inspiration. I decided to give it a go since it would cost me less than $40. I pretty much followed the tutorial instructions exactly, other than using safety pins instead of needles to protect a few curious little hands around here.
I am so proud of the final result.....
Now I can live with this!My husband thought I was OUT OF MY MIND for using white fabric since the kids sit here often. I am not afraid, after all, it's a slip cover! In the washer it will go on a regular basis I'm sure. But she is not going to stay here for long anyways. I will share that change sooner (or later).

I like it. But wow...you're brave to do white.
Wow! I'm so impressed! You are so right about fabric and paint swatches. Tricky tricky.
Well, I love the chair and if you tire of white you can go on to sew blue. Or yellow or swiss coffee. The possibilities are endless.
It looks fabulous. I like the white.
Wow, impressive!
I have been wanting to make a slipcover forever, but I'm too scared. You have to be exact, and I hate to measure. Probably because I'm not very good at it. But look at you - It totally looks professional!
Hi! You did a fantastic job on your chair!! I convinced my hubby to buy 3 white slipcovered couches (we have 3 kids, 2 boys!) and it's been great! I was checking out my visits, and saw that you have Altar'd as one of your favorite sites- and I wanted to say THANK YOU, and I'm so grateful that you like it. I'd love to give you something Altar'd (may have to be small depending on where you live)~ can you email me at mandie@altard.com?
Thanks so much!!
