Tricky stuff.....

Jake is getting so big and strong!
8 weeks as of yesterday.
He's been working hard at perfecting this little trick of his.

Speaking of tricks......
Little Miss Aubrey has finally figured out how to solve her problem of not being able to reach up high enough. She pushes the chairs, bar stools or anything she can flip over and stand on all over the house to get into what ever it is she thinks she needs!

Jeff and Aubrey were thoughtful enough to make me a birthday cake. Jeff is kind of wishing the cake would just go away now because that is all Aubrey's little mind can think about. She wants cake for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Notice the chocolate smudge across the front of the drawer, her face, her shirt, her hands.....pretty much all over her. You should have seen the floor and the rest of the counter!

I had such a wonderful birthday. I got to spend the day with my hubby and kids. I got a super cute new pair of snow boots. Jeff took me out to dinner. Just the two of us! Funny how that becomes such a big deal when you have little ones. I guess all the quiet and calm that I'm not use to gave me the headache I developed during dinner. Seriously, it went away shortly after we got home. Hmmmm.....I guess I don't want all the chaos to end after all.

So, another year has come and gone, AGAIN, and I am headed deeper into those thirty-somethings. I've had more time alone in the past few days than I normally do (driving back and forth to workouts), which means time to reflect on my life and where I want to take things from here. Yet it seems that the start of the new year is a time when many of us find ourselves with these same thoughts. I swear that year after year I set out to achieve some of the same goals.

F.False
E.Expectations
A.Appearing
R.Real

My trainer, Kevin, and I were talking after my workout tonight. We were talking about FEAR. So many of us have fears.....things we are afraid to do, accomplish or even become. So Kevin got me thinking. Am I afraid? What am I afraid of?

If occurred to me that I am afraid. I am afraid of stepping outside of my comfort zone and maybe succeeding in the process. Because with success comes expectations by those around me. And that can be a scary thing to have to live up to.

So how do I get over that fear? I have to stop worrying about what others see in me or think of me. Ultimately, that is what will continue to keep the fear alive. And without fear I can do anything, accomplish anything and become anything I want to. Okay, this is getting way too deep for me, considering I should have gone to bed hours ago.

Let me just say this.....
Watch out 2009!!!

Happy Birthday Leslie! I can't believe I forgot. Okay I can. I can't shower. I can't get off the couch. I'm sorry. I hope it was wonderful, headache and all. At least you didn't have to cook or clean. That is a pretty nice gift in and of itself. Don't worry we will celebrate soon. Love you!!!

There are never enough "high spots" are there? It seems like everything used to end up on top of our fridge until they figured how to get up there too...now behind lock and key is the only way things are safe. Thanks for the tip on the liners. I hadn't tried them since I hadn't ever heard from anyone that they work- now I'm going to have to get some!
