I have muscles there!!!

Shortly before I got pregnant with Jake I entertained the idea of having four or so kids. I was trying to convince Jeff that it would be such great fun with so many mini-us's running around. Then I became pregnant with Jake and, well, out the window the idea of a big family went. I decided that eighteen months of my life being spent sick, tired, swollen, big....you get the picture, was enough for me! My wise husband told me that deciding not to have more kids was not a decision I should be making while pregnant. Yeah, probably not such a good idea. But you know what? After having to recover from a second C-section, I decided I'm content with our small family we created.

Soon after Jake was born I began complaining to my husband about my post-pregnancy/breastfeeding body that was drooping and sagging in places that I don't think are supposed to. So my loving husband made arrangements for me to participate in a Cross Fit boot camp put on by a co-worker of his that is a personal trainer. "What's Cross Fit" you ask? Check it out here. I nervously accepted the offer, knowing that I am going to need some serious help if I intend to see the results I am after.

Saturday morning I was so excited as I headed out to my first day of boot camp. It kind of felt like the first day of school after a long summer vacation. The first part of warmup was climbing about 5 flights of stairs. I'm thinking 'If this is the warm-up, what the hell is the workout??' My legs were wobbling so bad at that point that I wasn't even sure I would make it through the warm-up much less the workout. After a few more warmup exercises we did 3 rounds at 30 seconds each of squats, lunges, mountain climbers, push-ups, wall sits, arm curls, lateral lunges, jump rope..... and I'm sure some others I've purposely forgotten. Then, to cool down we climbed a couple more flights of stairs and then stretched. Whew! I mean OUCH!!! Seriously, I only made it through because I kept feeling all those drooping and sagging parts bouncing around reminding me of why I was there in the first place. And of course Kevin's encouragement. I think he enjoyed telling us what to do way too much!

Today is post workout day #1. And today I am feeling the PAIN. Like the saying goes...NO PAIN, NO GAIN! There is definately some truth to that. As long as I don't have to move around too fast or bend down too far I'm okay. My biggest challenge of the day has been sitting down into and getting out of a chair. Including the toilet!!! That is one of those things I can't really avoid. And to make matters worse, I've been drinking tons of water so I have to go pee-pee a lot. With each little bend and twist I'm feeling pain in parts of my body I never really noticed before. This is a good thing, right?

So it's only January 4th and I am well on my way to transforming this "baby making" body I've been stuck in lately. Here's to a great year of happy and healthier living!

Look at you go! There's no way I would've survived...at all. And just so you know, Roger and I were TOTALLY happy and FINISHED with two. Seriously. Of course, now we look around and think, "Can you imagine if we would've just had two..." haha The answer is no I can't ;)

Oh- you had me cracking up! But that is great!! I am so impressed because I'm so far away from that. Sigh.. And Jake is only a few months!!! You go Miss Kidman. You're gonna look awesome. Not that you didn't before. Now let me share a little warning and word to the wise. Sometimes right after you lose that baby weight, something happens..... That's right- You get pregnant again! Hmmm... Wonder why that happens? Some natural phenomenon. So once you do just try and avoid your husband;) Trust me on this.
I got down to my pre pregnancy weight for only 2 weeks, 2 WEEKS!!, after a year and half of trying to lose it and then what do you know. Damn you Christian!
Got your message by the way. Thanks!

You two are making me very concerned! I guess we better get Jeff in to see 'Dr. Snippy' ASAP. I want to be able to enjoy the fruits of my labor without having to worry about getting pregnant AGAIN.
