It's hard to believe that we have already been home for 2 weeks and Jake is 2-1/2 weeks old. Now that I am feeling pretty good, I am finding myself obsessing over all the things that need to get done that make our household run smoothly. Sometimes I get so caught up in it that I begin to annoy myself as I listen to whatever I happen to be carrying on about. Can't imagine how I must make Jeff feel in these moments. As I was sitting down to nurse my sweet baby, I realized that everything I obsess about (laundry being done, house being clean and uncluttered, etc...) is just stuff to do. It does not have to all be done all the time. If it's undone, it will eventually get done. What I should really be focused on is making precious memories with my family. Because before I know it another 2 weeks will go by, then 2 months, and 2 years....... I don't want to look back and remember how tidy our home was. I want to look back and indulge myself with all the priceless memories we created by spending time as a family. That's what I vow to obsess about from now on.

Well Leslie, don't beat yourself up over it because really for some people(like us) clean makes us happy and feel organized and RELAXED. I can't relax when my house is a mess. But I'm working on it too. I used to get so bugged by my clean issues as as well. But I also know that, like you said, it will get done. It won't clutter up so bad that 6 years from now I will be like the hermit lady with stacks of trash to my ceiling. Oh to be a stay at home mom. We want the clean work enviroment but our work happens to be messy little kids that have to eat. Imagine that. I promise I will never look in your closets:)
Beautiful pictures!
So, so true! That's my philosophy! The kids are not going to remember either how clean the house was (or they'll be like me-so tired of mom having to have the house spick-n-span that now that I'm a mom I'm the total opposite!) they'll remember all the time you spent with them! It's the truth! Your blog is beautiful! LOVE the pictures! Are those from the pics you had done? On anther note, we miss you at work!!! It's going good but we miss you! Next Friday is the dinner, don't forget! Hope to see you then!
