3-1/2 months now and he's trying hard to sit up when we lay him down. It's like he's doing mini crunches or something. So a few days ago I figured it was time to dig the Bumbo out of the closet. Thank you mom and dad for the Bumbo because he likes it. Well, for a few minutes anyway.

Let's see, what else is new with the man of the house...I'm talking about Jake that is. The last four days have been pretty rough on the little guy. He's being demoted to having to drink mamma's milk from a bottle instead of straight from the tap. I am going back to work on Wednesday's and Thursday's starting this week. And that means Jeff gets the kids all to himself. So the bottle is what has to happen in order for Jeff to keep his sanity....Jake would scream and cry and put up a fight if we did not make the change. Trust me on this one....Jeff has already had a few of those days with him. Just like his big sis did! So to prepare for the transition I dug out Aubrey's old bottles (that she refused to use...EVER!) and headed out to pick up a couple other variations. I figured we could give ourselves a few options to try. Turns out we finally scored with the NUK. And apparently he won't drink a bottle in just any position. He's got to be just right. Gee whiz, picky eater already! But hey, what ever works!Because if Jake ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!
This morning Jeff came home from his 48 hour shift....with some snow in the bed of his truck as a surprise for us. Someone at work had it in their truck and Jeff was able to shovel some into his before heading home. Aubrey was soooo excited! She built a snowman with Jeff in the front yard and thought that was the coolest thing.

It really is the simple things in life that make me happy.....like Jake drinking from a bottle without crocodile tears and our little Roo (came from Aub-a-roo, which came from Aubrey...get it?) just having fun being a happy kid.

To me there is nothing funnier than a baby in a Bumbo. Don't ask me why. I think it makes their legs look funny. Anyway, it always gives me the giggles. Good giggles. And the name is funny too. Probably because it has the word bum in it and that really gives me the giggles.
I know...
